CBR600F / Overview

Total control, unrivalled comfort

A modern legend since 1987, the CBR600F has always offered riders an exhilarating yet user-friendly performance on the road.

From inception, through to its current incarnation, it has achieved this by remaining true to its guiding principle, the concept of total control. Regardless of a rider’s experience, their riding satisfaction is linked directly to the motorcycle’s ability to do exactly as they ask, when they ask.

Today’s responsiveness is the result of a completely integrated engineering approach. One that has created a truly unique sports motorcycle: the new CBR600F.

Our engineers recognised that some riders crave performance over the practicalities of the road. The result was the CBR600F Sport, launched in 2001, which pushed the CBR further. It’s a shift completed in 2003 with the all new CBR600RR. A motorcycle dedicated to one thing: the total domination of the world’s racetracks.

The concept of total control returns for 2011, with a new middleweight sportsbike

This brand new motorcycle is formed from the timeless qualities of its predecessors: total control with the very latest in technology. The result? Neutral handling, near-Supersport levels of performance and the refinement and practicality vital to the CBR’s appeal.

These qualities are combined with the rider and passenger comfort traditionally denoted by the ‘F’ in its name.

Our engineers could have just re-engineered the CBR600RR. But why compromise a single-minded machine? Instead the new CBR600F took a compact alloy 599cc engine and Mono-Backbone aluminium frame as its starting point. This high performance core package was then painstakingly developed to meet the new brief – create a high performance road sportsbike with the accessibility that has always defined the CBR600F.
